The Seasons
By: Daniel Montoya & Jason RobinsonThe Seasons, I'm not fond of three.
They taunt and bully me.
Play keep away with where I want to be.
Deep breathes, mixed with long sighs
Is how I tread the days, and wade the nights
Oh I'll be fine
Once I find a way, to turn back time.
Today it dawned on me.
The Seasons move in secrecy.
They point and laugh at me.
Mock through the wind, but I can't see.
What's dark was once so bright,
that's why I've dread the days, and fear the nights
Oh I'll be fine,
Once I find a way, to turn back time.
Snow, will you rise. back up to the sky.
Winter you're better off not knowing why.
And Fall talk to the trees, ask them please.
Will they turn back each leaf.
And Summer, explain to the sun.
Long days are fun, but I've gotta get back to the one
thing that only time can bring
The beauty I met, last Spring
I wonder could it be,
the Seasons, act out of jealousy
They saw me so happy,
They struck the sky, they watched it fall,
To bring me to my knees
They wait to hear me beg, to hear me plead.
Oh if I cried,
would time then be on my side?
Or would it simply fly,
leave ripples in the sky, as it waves goodbye,
and leaves me where I lie
Oh truthfully, don't they believe
that's exactly how it's designed
They say time will not wait, or visit past dates
Well excuse me if I pry
I'm not ashamed to give this one last try
Snow, will you rise. back up to the sky.
Winter you're better off not knowing why.
And Fall talk to the trees, ask them please.
Will they turn back each leaf.
And Summer, explain to the sun.
Long days are fun, but I've gotta get back to the one
thing that only time can bring
The beauty I met, last Spring
The reason that I sing, is not your average thing
It's followed by joy, and that's exactly what it brings
A name so nice, I said it wrong to hear it twice
But once I got it right, it begin to change my life.
Can't see the halo or the wings, on the reason that I sing
They're eclipsed by her smile. And I've been blinded for a while.
Can't see that smile, its been a while
A long while.
Just now, this dawned on me,
the Seasons weren't my enemies.
They saw what I could not see,
she chose alone not to follow me.
But now I've gained my sight
I'll have to brave the days, I'll face the nights
Oh I'll be fine,
but I wish I too could've stayed behind.
Sound Advice
My love and fascination of music drew me to music composition. Combined with the joy of thoroughly communicating my feelings and thoughts, songwriting became something I wanted to share with others. The chance that others might identify with my personal experiences and observations while nodding or singing along, and the prospect of having someone's attention for a couple of minutes, and possibly impacting them positively for a lifetime. These were my motivations for recording Sound Advice.
