Watch What You Say

By: Jason Robinson
I don't know if it's a gift or a curse.
I can see the words in every verse.
Everything that's spoken, everything that's said
Even what's whispered softly under your breath

And from my view
I can see what's coming you sent quite a few
With only two things they're designed to do
Ruin reputations, character assassination of …

Whoever happened to get in your way.
Maybe they crossed you on the wrong day.
Now your plans to make them pay.
With every word you say.

As the rumors make their rounds
I can tell who's going down
With this vision I can see
That these are aimed for me.

If one explodes that's bad news.
All I gotta do is keep my cool.
Let these heat-seekers run out of fuel.
And then, judging by the material used.

I can tell who sent them my way
And I can combat what they say.
But the damage is already done.
As the calls come in one by one.

Sticks and stones may break your bones.
But nothing can compare to the damage dealt over the phone.
What begins with the dial tone
Ends with your ears in the middle of a danger zone.

Some lies people won't buy
But mix a little truth and watch it fly
Watch it soar, and watch it glide.
And watch it take a life when the two collide.

Trust me, it's a bad way to go.
So painful, and so slow. Like …
Stepping on glass with you bare feet.
Slivers travel through your veins with each heartbeat.

But what you said was more like lead.
Poisoning my system with every step I take.
To live, to live
I guess I'll just forgive.

If one explodes that's bad news.
All I gotta do is keep my cool.
Let these heat-seekers run out of fuel.
And then, judging by the material used.

I can tell who sent them my way
And I can combat what they say.
But the damage is already done.
As the calls come in one by one.

Who knew all the negative comments, were the …
Black and blue prints of mass destruction, should I ...
Head for cover, before the next round, or ...
Take aim and focus, long enough to shoot 'em down.

If one explodes that's bad news.
All I gotta do is keep my cool.
Let these heat-seekers run out of fuel.
And then, judging by the material used.

I can tell who sent them my way
And I can combat what they say.
But the damage is already done.
As the calls come in one by one.

If one explodes that's bad news.
All I gotta do is keep my cool.
Let these heat-seekers run out of fuel.
And then, judging by the material used.

I can tell who sent them my way
And I can combat what they say.
But the damage is already done.
As the calls come in one by one.

One, one, one, one.
ABOUT

Sound Advice

My love and fascination of music drew me to music composition. Combined with the joy of thoroughly communicating my feelings and thoughts, songwriting became something I wanted to share with others. The chance that others might identify with my personal experiences and observations while nodding or singing along, and the prospect of having someone's attention for a couple of minutes, and possibly impacting them positively for a lifetime. These were my motivations for recording Sound Advice.
